DESCRIPTION

The T.E.C.C. (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) course introduces civilian responders (international organizations and cooperations, NGOs, private companies, etc.) to emergency casualty care in an operational environment. This 16 hour course is intended for first responders. The goal of this training is to reduce the number of avoidable deaths in tactical situations.

OBJECTIVES

• To master and provide appropriate first aid to one or more victims (injured by firearm, explosion or knife) while maintaining one own safety
• To know the causes of avoidable deaths (hemorrhages, pneumothorax, upper respiratory tract obstructions)
• Distinguish between the 3 zones of care in order to find the balance between what is medically desirable and feasible according to the threat (direct, indirect, safe zone)
• Know how to properly apply a tourniquet on oneself or on an injured person
• Correctly perform the extraction technique of a wounded person
